Investigation at Sooner Corral.

History;
The property that is home to the Sooner Corral was purchased in 1907 by Jaret Martin. The 160 acres of land was a private residence for about 52 years. During the 52 year span it changed hands several times. The building that is presently the sooner corral was built somewhere between 1948 – 1952. We do not know what exactly this building was originally used for other than part of the private residence.
In 1960 the building was purchased by a Mr. William A. Mays Sr. The building was listed as a business and known as the Westerner Ballroom. In October of 1994 Richard Mays bought the property and renamed it The Silver Dollar Saloon. It again changed hands in May of 1998 by the current owner and is now known as The Sooner Corral.
Investigation:
When we arrived at the Sooner Corral it was still open for business as we waited for the clients to leave we were briefed by Anita. She told us about some of the spirits thought to still be in residence. One is an old cowboy Griz who can be quite feisty he has been known to act out when he does not get his way. Griz also expects that a beer be left for him each night on the bar, if you forget beware! He likes to throw things.
One of the employees talked to us about a female spirit she has encountered usually when she is washing her hands in the women’s bathroom. When in the bathroom she would feel a presence, look up into the bathroom mirror and catch a glimpse of the female standing behind her. She stated that the spirit is a young very attractive girl that she has named dancer. Though there are no records to confirm there is a story of a young woman who died in the bathroom of a drug overdose. Also there is a story of a young man stabbed to death outside the sooner corral on the property.
After set up we broke into our groups. Anita and I made our way into the bathroom to see if we could pick up on the female spirit. We situated ourselves in the bathroom; we had digital cameras, digital voice recorder and a video camera running. We also set up a motion detector on the counter. Shortly after we sat down Anita felt the presence of a little girl. We started an EVP session and while we were seated the motion detector comes on we move around to make sure we did not set off the detector and we did not. We start to ask questions such as how old are you? The motion sensor started to go off on command and it seemed we were communicating by way of the motion detector, this continued for a good 25 to 30 minutes. After the session comes to a halt we leave the bathroom but had a digital camera and voice recorder still running. Two times during the rest of the evening we went in to check tape and battery the camera had been moved and the camera turned to the off position, after the second time I requested that my camera be left alone it never went off again. Several others had personal experiences that night such as being touched and hearing footsteps.
As an investigator for over a year this was the first time that I actually felt that I was communicating with a spirit. It was very exciting and I can not say for sure if the sooner coral is haunted or not I will say that something is certainly going on there and warrants further investigation.
