Team NAGS had the great opportunity to investigate the old plantation restaurant at medicine park, OK. There is more there then meets the eye, Going thru medicine park it looks like a quite, sleepy town. But when you take a closer look at its past you'll find that Medicine Park was once one of Oklahoma's  hot spots for tourist. Built in 1908 as   (pavilion)   the old plantation restaurant was constructed with tree trunks for columns. In 1914 the park was purchased by  DL Sleeper & associates of Oklahoma City, who added a flat roofed frame second story to the hotel and replaced the (tree) columns with cobblestones to support the added weight. The property then was known as the (outside Inn) . A two story hotel annex was built in 1915-1916 by Sen, Elmer Thomas and H. J. Lloyd of Altus when a loan was defaulted in 1915.

Mrs. Thomas operated a trading post store on the first floor of the annex, which still stands on the north-east corner if the old plantation. The frame second story of the annex which was connected to the hotel property, was destroyed by fire in the late 1940"s There was something that had happen there on the sidewalk between the main building and the annex, Two cracks, parallel to each other, have formed, and the space between them is caving inward.
There is a story about tunnels running all over the land there. (could this be true?). It is said to have a tunnel that is six feet wide and high enough to walk through led from the hotel basement to the Thomas cabin at least so the tale goes. In the old plantation hotel was a gambling room in the basement, the traveling men on Friday nights always had a game. There was a peep hole behind the register desk and about five feet off the ground and two shoulder lengths south of the stairway. The gambling room was  a concrete vault a little larger than a living room. It also came with a trap door. The tunnel was used for anyone for escape  of detection of various forms of illicit activity that went on there. You could get  your bootleg whiskey there, It is told that is where they did their cooking. Various additions were made over the years. By the time Lulabelle Young (later Hutchins) bought 360 of the Park's original 1,100 acres on June 19,1939, It had grown to a three-story 50 bedroom Grand Hotel. A fire in 1948 burned the third story and the two story hotel annex dating from 1915-16. At that time the Leaths,    who moved there in 1964  and bought the hotel in 1973, have restored the third floor and bay end. They called Mrs. Leagh Grandma she had collected many stories and legends that she wrote in a book called The Ghost of the old plantation. There have been many stories told about ghost of the old plantation. We decided to take a look into the tales and see what we found. Knowing that Medicine Park lies in the foothills of the Wichita Mountains, these where the hunting grounds for Native American tribes such as the Cheyenne,   Sioux, Comanche, Apache, Kiowa, and Tonkawa Indian's. Taking into consideration that back in 1868, a great Indian war flared across the prairies, causing a number of military forts to be established throughout the west. Fort Sill was one of them. There was also a gold mining boom that occurred along medicine park creek in the 1880's, so is the stories told true about the haunting's? there were stories told of deaths that have occurred in the old plantation hotel, were these also true? Present on Team nags were Anita, Mel, Marcus , Chcarra, Linda, La Donna, Lanetta, Jim, Jen, Chris and a few people who were there for a tryout for the team.
we split up in two groups. The first group headed down into the tunnels under the old Plantation, while the other team headed up to the second floor.
As we split up I was on the second team that went to the second floor, When we had reached the second floor we split again into two groups of three's as we walked the halls nothing out of the norm happened. An hour went by and still nothing. We then headed to the third floor were only two people could go at a time due to the fact the floor was not safe. As Chris and I reached the third floor I seen a green light all around Chris's head, as he walked I took pictures and captured a mist following him as he walked. We did a sit down for EVP's (but got nothing). We then switched with team one and headed down to the tunnels. As we got the the trap door where you had to enter, some of the team members who have allergies decided not to go any further. Team one was down there for an hour and had some activity. Team two had none. As team one was down there they had experienced orbs of green and yellow in some of the pictures they had taken, I am not a big fan of orbs, but , when looking at the pictures they had taken it makes me wonder.
After leaving and not being satisfied, The team has decided to return for a second investigation.
I will put are findings up here at a later date.
